In a significant milestone for India’s global standing, the country has been appointed as the Vice-President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for the first time.
Shri Vivek Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has been appointed Vice-President of FATF for the term July 2026 to June 2027.
FATF is the world’s leading inter-governmental body that sets international standards to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. India’s elevation to this key position reflects the country’s growing influence in global financial governance and its strong commitment to fighting financial crimes and terrorism.
