🛢️ Centre Restores Commercial LPG Supplies, Lifts Curbs Imposed During Middle East Crisis
In a major relief for businesses and industries, the Central Government has restored commercial (non-domestic) LPG supplies to pre-crisis levels and withdrawn all sector-wise restrictions imposed during the recent Middle East conflict.
The restrictions were introduced after geopolitical tensions in the Middle East disrupted global LPG supplies and shipping routes, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz, prompting the government to prioritize LPG availability for domestic households.
With international supply conditions now improving and imports stabilising, the government has:
✅ Restored commercial LPG cylinder supplies to pre-crisis levels.
✅ Lifted all sectoral restrictions on non-domestic packed LPG.
✅ Partially resumed bulk LPG allocations for industrial consumers.
✅ Increased the supply of propane and butane to the petrochemical sector while ensuring adequate domestic LPG production.
The decision is expected to provide significant relief to hotels, restaurants, food businesses, manufacturing units, and other commercial establishments that were affected by supply restrictions during the crisis.
The Centre has reiterated that household LPG consumers will continue to receive uninterrupted supplies while fuel availability for commercial users returns to normal.
