New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has praised India’s remarkable economic transformation and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, recalling his first visit to India in the 1990s.
Luxon said he remembered seeing Indian workers receiving their day’s wages in coins, adding that the scale of India’s transformation since then has been “incredible.”
Meanwhile, India and New Zealand on Saturday announced a “Strategic Partnership”, marking a major upgrade in bilateral ties during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s landmark visit.
The partnership will focus on strengthening cooperation in defence, security and other key strategic areas.
