The Delhi High Court on Saturday refused to grant interim relief on a plea filed by Gitanjali Angmo, wife of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, seeking his transfer from Safdarjung Hospital to a hospital of his choice.

During the hearing, the Centre informed the Court that Wangchuk’s admission to Safdarjung Hospital was based purely on medical advice and not an arbitrary administrative decision. Accepting this submission, the Court declined to issue any interim directions for his transfer at this stage.

The matter remains under judicial consideration as Wangchuk continues his hunger strike, while supporters closely watch further developments.
