Bangkok Pub Fire Kills At Least 27 People

BANGKOK, THAILAND: At least 27 people have been killed after a massive fire engulfed a pub in Bangkok early Monday, officials said.

The blaze broke out at a pub in the northern part of the Thai capital. Firefighters brought the flames under control, while several injured people were taken to hospitals.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the scene and said the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Preliminary accounts suggest smoke was noticed near a circuit breaker close to the stage before the power went out and an explosion was heard.
