NEW DELHI: One Indian seafarer is missing following an attack on a container ship, prompting a strong condemnation from the Government of India.

According to the government, the missing Indian national was serving as the ship’s Third Engineer. His family has been informed about the incident.

The families of the rescued Indian seafarers have also been contacted, informed about their safety and counselled.

Condemning the attack, the government said that “targeting of commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure in the region must end.”
